From grapes crown at Pollak Vineyards in Greenwood, VA, this wine was made in a traditional style with extended pre-fermentation and post fermentation maceration. On the skins for a month, this is a fully extracted Petit Verdot, with tannic structure. It was aged in French oak (50% new) for 15 months.
The color of this Petit Verdot is reflective of the concentration of flavors. Rich, with bold tannins and a lot of structure and varietal intensity, this wine is balanced by dark berries along with a hint of raisin and tobacco. This Petit Verdot has the structure and depth that will allow it to age for 7-10 years.
